Ghostwriter App

The app promises to write messages in the voices of the dead. Users type apologies, confessions, questions. The replies arrive in familiar phrasing, with old misspellings and jokes. Comfort spreads, but so does suspicion. Could algorithms know that much? One user asks a secret only their grandmother knew. The answer comes, perfect. They delete the app, unsettled. The next day, a handwritten letter arrives in the mail: "I liked the practice. Call more often."
